According to the spirit of federalism envisioned by the Constitution of Nepal issued by the historic Constituent Assembly in 2072 BS, Article 244 of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Provincial Public Service Commission in each province and that the formation, functions, duties and powers of the commission shall be as per the provincial law. The commission has been formed and commenced its work on 2077/12/11 in accordance with the Provincial Public Service Commission Act 2076 enacted by the Gandaki Provincial Assembly. It shall be the duty of the Provincial Public Service Commission to select suitable candidates for appointment to the posts of Provincial Civil Service, Provincial Other Government Services, Provincial Organizational Service, Local Government Service and Local Level Organizational Service.
